Russell completes Radiographic audit work for YES pipeline
The new Spectra Energy pipeline which will supply natural gas to New York is tied in.
For project description go to: http://www.yesgaspipeline.org/multimedia/
Our work consisted of auditing more than 50% of the gamma radiographs that were taken by the Quality Control contractor, Acuren (WIT division).
The project included nine HDD (horizontal directional drill) sections under the Hudson and other rivers in New Jersey, one of which was the longest HDD ever completed in north America.
Although the pipeline is only some 20 miles in length, it took over a year to build because it passes through heavily built-up areas. Spectra spared no expense to ensure that the pipeline will provide a reliable and safe source of energy to Manhattan for many years.
