GAZPROM reviewed and tested the capabilities of several Sonotron products and have approved them as follows for use on their systems:

Position # 421: ISONIC 2009 and ISONIC 2010 are the only portable Phased Array instruments accepted by GAZPROM. You’ll not find any other competitors for PA instruments in the list as these instruments didn’t pass the qualification. The main points allowed us to pass the qualification were:

• very high POD
• practically no false alarms
• true-to-geometry imaging
• simple calibration and operation
• coupling monitor
• 100% raw data recording
• automatic creating of the defect list
• exporting inspection results into MS Word, MS Excel
• signal-to-noise ratio exceeding competitive stuff by 30 dB at least

• Position # 422: ISONIC utPod is also accepted by GAZPROM

• Position # 426: ISONIC PA AUT is the only PA machine for the automatic ultrasonic testing of girth welds accepted by GAZPROM. In Russia ISONIC PA AUT has individual name – ARGOVISION (this is the similar marketing decision as ISONIC STAR in China and ISONIC 2020 in South East Asia for ISONIC 2005 see for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSbK5Vd3mi0  ). The special name Argovision is used as we delivery complete set including the truck, diesel power generator, pumps, video-monitoring tools, etc., so ISONIC PA AUT is a core part of Argovision system. You’ll not find any competitive PA instruments on the list as these machines didn’t pass the qualification. The main points that allowed us to pass the qualification were:

  • automatic creating of the defect list
  • automatic defect sizing (latest version of ISONIC PA AUT MULTIZONE SW)
